Intheburbs, I am sorry to hear that you have problems with your 795. I have the exact opposite experience with my two guns. My Marlin 795 is rock solid, while my Ruger jams with anything but premium ammo. It just shows how different two guns can be. Jun 11, 2021 · The 795 is still the entry market and competes with the cheap Savages and other cheap entry 22s. I would think Ruger would want a piece of that action. I have a bunch of 10/22s but also have 2 795s. One was built just before and one just after Marlin was sold and manufacturing moved. Both are good guns. I have both an XT22 and a 795. The XT likes CCI SV, the 795 is stoopid accurate with 36gr Mini Mags. The 795 also does well with Remington GB's and Federal AM, the XT sprays GB's all over the paper and prints 1" groups with the Feds. Neither gun shoots the Winchester bulk well, this same ammo will give me 5/8" at 50yds through my Remington 597. ….

The 60 and 795 use the same semi-auto action. The 60 has a longer barrel, a tube feed magazine, is more accurate beyond about 50 yds, and is a bit heavier. I think 60s can still be had with wooden stocks. The 795 has a detachable 10 round magazine and a plastic stock.
